Google Android 12 beta features
Android 12 Beta 2 is here in June 2021 as planned by Google. This beta versions are now available in many smartphones. Still it is not available in the budget smartphones. But you can have it installed in your premium smartphones like Google , Samsung and OnePlus.
It comes with the features opened in Google I/O. The beta 2 version is available in pixel and other devices. There are some new features along with the features in the beta 1. Now the clipboard privacy and network connection management from the notification panel is updated in the beta 2.
Clipboard read notification - To give users more transparency on when apps are reading from the clipboard, Android 12 now displays a toast at the bottom of the screen each time an app uses your clipboard. Android won’t show the toast if the clipboard was copied from the same app. We recommend minimizing your app’s reads from the clipboard, and making sure that you only access the clipboard when it will be expected by users.
More intuitive connectivity experience - To help users understand and manage their network connections better, android is introducing a simpler and more intuitive connectivity experience across the Status Bar, Quick Settings, and Settings. The new Internet Panel helps users switch between their Internet providers and troubleshoot network connectivity issues more easily. Let us know what you think!
The much awaited event Google I/O ( Annual Developer Conference ) was held on Tuesday 18 May 2021 giving a hint of Google's next big technology innovations coming this year. Google announced some major products and services to be launching and improvements to many existing services like Google Maps, Google Photos, Project Starline, Samsung-Google partnership for WearOS and of course the much loved Android 12. Many things were announced but we are interested in Android 12 Beta which is released for public by Google. As always Android 12 is also focused on privacy of users and for that Google has revamped the whole UI. Stable release of Android 12 will come this year around September-October , till then some users can experience the Beta features.
Material You ( Interface changes )
The material you is an upgrade over material design language of Google which was released in 2014. Google said that more than 3 billion devices uses Android. Google wanted to give them more personalised content and services throughout the apps and ecosystems. With material you users can now completely personalise their phone with custom colour pallets and redesigned gadgets. With colour extraction android will choose the best colour options from your wallpaper and will apply that theme to whole OS including the notification shade, the lock screen, new widgets, volume controls and others. This function is more expressive and personalised. You just have to set your wallpaper and everything will be just like that wallpaper's colours. This feature is for pixel devices for now and will be available for other OEMs after some time.
Smooth Motions and Animations
In its official blog google said about new fluid motion and Animations. Better CPU performance an reducing battery power consumption.
"Google has worked on improving the under-the-hood tasks. These include reducing the CPU time needed for core system services by up to 22% and reducing the use of big cores by the system server by up to 15%.
From the moment you pick up an Android 12 device, you’ll feel how it comes alive with every tap, swipe and scroll. Your phone quickly responds to your touch with smooth motion and animations. For example, when you dismiss your notifications on the lock screen, your clock will appear larger so you know when you’re all caught up." Head to official blog here
New Privacy Dashboard
Well if you are an iPhone user you might know these features of privacy. In android 12 you will get a new privacy dashboard just like other settings ( for example - Digital Wellbeing ). In this dashboard you will access all of your permissions given to your apps. You can easily manage that permissions by revoking or limiting for some time.
Google added a new indicator to the top right of phone's status bar so you know when your apps are accessing your microphone or camera. And if you want to remove app access to these sensors for the entire system, they added two new toggles in Quick Settings. Also Google will restrict (Android 12) apps from taking accurate location permissions. In android 12 you will be allowed to give users fake or unpredictable location. So you can restrict Facebook or weather apps from taking your accurate location information.
Other Handy features
Some improved accessibility features for impaired people, rolling screen shots and some conversations features in home page. Also third party AppStores like Amazon App Store can also be available to download from Google Play store. Android 12 is bringing some favourite chats or conversations to widget form in the Home screen.

It is still worth noticing that as like in iOS 14 update in iPhone ( where Do not track feature is creating a hype ) privacy concerned feature of removing personalised ads by revoking permissions of apps like Facebook and Instagram. Assuming that it will be provided in the stable update Android 12 is a good update.
